Falken secure majestic win at the 2018 VLN final

Klaus Bachler and Martin Ragginger claimed their second victory of the VLN 2018 season at the Nürburgring, crowning the Porsche 911 GT3 R’s farewell race in magnificent style. This was arguably the best way to send the successful model into a well-deserved retirement, and drew to a close another chapter of Falken’s successful history.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R has been Falken Motorsport's most successful model, winning two overall VLN victories and totalling nine podium places since it made its racing debut in April 2016. The continuously-reliable Porsche 911 raced over 30,000 kilometres on the challenging Nürburgring Nordschleife - proof of the meticulous work of the Falken engineers.

During the pre-race run-up, Falken drew a lot of attention with an extraordinary initiative encouraging fans, drivers, team members and officials the unique opportunity to commemorate the racing car with their signature and a personal dedication.

Bachler and Ragginger achieved an outstanding top lap time of 7:57.656 minutes, which earned the duo from Austria, fourth starting position.

The Falken Motorsport Porsche team took an early lead in the race and controlled the following competition crossing the finish line four hours later as winners. Martin Ragginger and Klaus Bachler soared to victory thanks to both a smart pit strategy and perfect tyre management to celebrate their second joint success for Falken.

The Falken Motorsport team finished their successful season with seven podium finishes and two overall victories, including the first double victory in the team´s history. Falken Motorsport was also the overall winner of the VLN Speed Trophy 2018, where the top teams are rewarded according to the current Formula 1 points system.
