Members of Micheldever Group’s Retail and Wholesale divisions and hundreds of other guests from the industry attended the 90th annual dinner and 6th industry awards ceremony for the National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA) at the ICC, in Birmingham. The ICC is a short 2-minute walk away from where the White Horse Hotel once stood, the location of the 1st ever NTDA dinner in 1930.
The retail arm, Protyre were delighted win two awards, ‘Industry Marketing Campaign of the Year’ and ‘REACT Roadside Technician of the Year’ as well as being a finalist in the category of ‘National Apprentice Tyre Technician of the Year’.
The win for Industry Marketing Campaign of the Year was awarded for their 2018 campaign in support of Tyresafe. Protyre has long been a supporter of Tyresafe and an advocate of the importance of raising awareness of tyre safety across their online and offline retail channels.
The ‘REACT Roadside Technician of the Year’ award is a homage to the unsung heroes of the tyre industry. Those technicians who can be called out at any time of the day or night, in all weather, to work on some of the largest vehicles and are often just inches away from speeding traffic.
We are delighted that one of our Protyre technicians, Adrian Sainsbury, won the 2019 award. Adrian is a dedicated and professional member of team Protyre and we couldn’t be happier that he has been recognised for doing the job that he loves.
Finally, one of Protyre’s apprentices, Joseph Beaver, was a finalist in the category of ‘National Apprentice Tyre Technician of the Year’. Huge congratulations Joseph!
