Protyre Wins Silver at TJ Awards

Posted on 6th December 2016

Protyre and ProVQ walked away with the Silver Award for Best Apprenticeship Programme on Tuesday 6th December at the Training Journal awards.

The awards, hosted by Kate Garraway, celebrated 46 winners in 15 categories, with Protyre honoured for its fully accredited apprenticeship scheme which works to provide new and innovative ways to offer work and training opportunities to young people.

As youth unemployment remains alarmingly high, tackling jobs and opportunities for young people is a social imperative. Protyre and Pro VQ beat fellow finalists British Airways and SEMTA, Greene King and Lifetime Training, Volvo Group UK & Eire and Stephenson College and Guys and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust to the second place slot.

Simon Hiorns, Retail Director at Protyre, said: “We have invested a great deal of time and effort in working with Pro VQ to create an industry leading apprenticeship programme. It was testament to this work and our amazing results that our programme beat those from a number of different industry sectors”.

Managing Director at Pro VQ, Julian Lloyd, said: “All at ProVQ are thrilled to have received such recognition, particularly as this is a multi-sector award; to pitch our programme against the likes of British Airways and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital and do so well is a real achievement”.
