Micheldever Partnership Affirmed

Posted on 9th May 2014

Further to the Heads of Agreement signed last October, Kumho Tyre (UK) Ltd (KTUK) and Micheldever Tyre Services Ltd (MTS) are delighted to announce that they have agreed a new three-year contract with
immediate effect.

It confirms that MTS will continue to support and grow the existing Kumho ECSTA Performance Centre (EPC) network of independent retailers. In turn, KTUK will build and serve a complementary network of EPCs via its new warehouse facility in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.

Both networks will operate on a common platform based on the long-standing and very effective approach which has already made the EPC programme the most successful of its kind in the UK.

The new contract sets out how the relationship will work in the interests of the two partners and the independent businesses they both serve, thus ensuring that both parties and their respective sales teams can work together in a co-ordinated and mutually supportive way to further strengthen the Kumho brand. In turn this will guarantee the dealer networks can continue to expand their businesses, confident of a strong long-term commitment to optimising their success in their local markets.

Commenting on the agreement, MTS’s CEO Duncan Wilkes said:

“The new contract reflects and builds on the strength of the long-established relationship between KTUK and Micheldever, and clearly defines how we will operate going forward. I have no doubt it will be very good for both companies and the EPC network in particular.”

KTUK’s Managing Director Kie Myung Choe added:

“Our organisations share a common aim – ie to provide our EPCs with the finest support programme in the market. This agreement will enable us to achieve that goal and continue to grow the Kumho brand throughout the UK for the benefit of all concerned.”
